Startup Hackathon is an initiative of Student Entrepreneurs inc. a not for profit organisation dedicated to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship amongst tertiary students. ‘Startup Hackathon 2012’ will bring together teams of entrepreneurial IT and design students from universities around Victoria, to launch web-based startups – from scratch – in 48 hours. Each team will conceive and develop their idea over the course of a weekend, and on the final day of the program, pitch their startups to a group of investors. Progress of Startup Hackathon will be broadcast to members of the tech and startup communities via live streaming, and all startups will be put to action at the conclusion of the Hackathon.
